How this project is funded
| Source or relationship | Type | Value or material benefit | Restrictions | Period | Public wording |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Project owner | Personal payment for the domain, hosting and project tools | Ordinary customer purchases paid for by the owner; no discount, sponsorship or donated hosting | None | Ongoing | “Personally funded by the project owner” |
| Netlify | Public static-web-hosting supplier | Personal-plan customer relationship; no sponsorship or donated editorial support | No editorial, clinical, directory or release influence | Current hosting term | “Netlify supplies web hosting as an ordinary customer service” |
| Fasthosts | Domain, DNS and email supplier | Paid supplier relationship only | No editorial, clinical, directory or release influence | Current service term | “Fasthosts supplies the domain, DNS and email as an ordinary paid service” |
| One consultant neurologist | Donated professional time: periodic voluntary advisory review of selected content | Unpaid; no financial value exchanged | Advisory only; no publication authority; not publicly named without separate permission | Ongoing, at the reviewer’s availability | “Periodic voluntary advisory clinical review; discipline-only attribution” |
There are no grants, public donations, sponsorships, advertising income, commercial income, affiliate relationships or pharmaceutical funding. If that changes, this page will be updated before the new arrangement takes effect.
Independence controls
- Can a funder influence medical wording? The only funder is the project owner, who is also the disclosed release authority. Medical wording must remain within its checked sources regardless of who pays.
- Can a supplier influence the guide? No. Netlify supplies ordinary web hosting, while Fasthosts supplies the domain, DNS and email. Neither has an editorial or clinical role.
- Can payment influence directory inclusion or ordering? No. Paid ranking is prohibited. Inclusion and ordering follow the published directory rules.
- Are affiliate links allowed? No.
- Is pharmaceutical advertising allowed? No.
- How are donated services disclosed? In the table above, updated before any new donated service takes effect.
Conflicts
| Role or contributor category | Interest | Relevance | Handling decision | Review date | Public disclosure |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Advisory clinical reviewer | A declared personal-professional connection to the project, recorded privately | Could be perceived as influencing advisory review | Review is advisory only, confers no release authority, and the full record is held in the owner’s restricted governance record | 2026-07-17 | This row |
| Project owner | Personal lived-experience connection to FND in the owner’s family | The reason the project exists; shapes priorities, not evidence | Medical claims map to checked published sources; lived experience is labelled and never presented as clinical evidence | 2026-07-17 | This row |
The full controlled conflict record stays outside the public workspace. Nothing in this statement identifies anyone other than the project owner.
What our relationship labels mean
- Source: a published document we cite. Citation is not endorsement.
- Directory listing: a service or resource that met the published inclusion rules. Listing is not a recommendation or a guarantee.
- Contributor: someone whose material appears with their permission.
- Reviewer: someone who examined specific content; their scope and date are recorded. Review is advisory and is not approval or endorsement.
- Supplier: an organisation paid for an ordinary service. Payment does not create editorial or clinical influence.
- Collaborator / partner: not currently used; if ever used, it will be defined here first.
- Endorser: not used. Nothing on this site claims endorsement.
Access to, citation of, review by or communication with an organisation does not by itself mean endorsement, partnership or institutional approval.
Reviewer attribution
The public default is discipline-only attribution, such as “a consultant neurologist”. Names, employers or affiliations appear only with separate permission, and no wording may imply that a reviewer’s employer endorses the project.
Review record
- Hosting and funding facts checked against the live Netlify release, Fasthosts DNS and email records, and the release-operations state on 5 August 2026.
- Owner exact-version decision: approved through the controlled successor transaction for version 0.3.
- Independent editorial or conflict-handling advice: not obtained.
